Candle Usage Tips
Collapsible content
Wick Length
Keep your wick at around 1/8 of an inch at all times. Use a wick trimmer or scissors. This keeps the candle burning more even, and helps the candle last longer!
Vessel Usage
Once you are done with your candle, you can extract remaining wax (put it in a freezer first. That helps make it easier!) and recycle your vessel, use it for something else around the house or bring it to us to refill!
Maintaining Scent
Keep your top on when not using the candle to help preserve the scent.
Burn Time
Never burn the candle for more than 4 hours and recycle once wax is about 1/4 to 1/8 left.
What Environmentally Friendly Tools Do We Use?
-
Fragrance
All of our fragrances are natural and derived from essential oils.
-
Soy Wax
All of our candles use a natural soy-based wax that is free of preservatives and safe on human skin, surfaces and utensils.
-
Vessels
We use only ceramic and glass vessels. Ceramic vessels are able to decompose faster than aluminum (or glass) and glass are easier to recycle using your neighborhood infrastructure (or you can recycle the vessels as well!)
-
Vessel Tops
All of our vessel tops are made of natural materials that are easy to compost or discard. These materials include cork, bamboo and natural woods. You can also use them as coasters!
-
Packing Materials
We re-use packing materials as many times as we can before they break down. We recycle as much of the material as we can (and encourage you to do the same!) That's why you may see newspaper, re-used boxes and other older materials in your packaging.
-
Recycling
We encourage all candle users (whether you are a burntwick customer or not) to recycle your vessel when you are done. You can bring yours to us for a free refill for just $10!
